And if so much excitement was not enough, the good doctor tops his winning streak by launching a new airline. “I decided 25 years ago that Kingfisher would be a lifestyle brand,” said Dr. Mallya recently at an awards ceremony. Kingfisher Airlines officially launches on 7th May with the first commercial flight scheduled for take off on 9th May. A total of 16 cities currently make up the network, teamed with a fleet of aircrafts re-christened as ‘Funliners’ whose interiors have been designed by fashion gurus like Ritu Beri, Tarun Tahiliani, Rohit Bal and Malini Ramani. The in-flight crew or ‘Flying Models’ are another innovative feature for this carrier. |
