Sania Mirza :

Eighteen-year-old Sania Mirza has a way with numbers. It started with 166. Then flipped around, and lost a digit to 99 - a figure she’s pretty pleasant with, incidentally. After all, it’s quite sometihng to be placed within the top 100 in international women’s tennis. The event becomes more momentous when the leap is made within a month. The first Indian woman to have reached the third round of a tennis grand slam, Mirza strutted her stuff in the games she played against top seed, Serena Williams, in the Austrilian Open, in January 2005. And although she didn’t get the better of that match, she rounded up the trophies at the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) Hyderabad Open. She may just be the first Indian supernova.
