An American oil rig in distant Mongolia folds up. A cynical
pilot (Dennis Quaid) is sent to evaculate the people working
there. He takes off with the motley crowd but before the flight
can actually soar across the Gobi desert, the plane is ripped
apart by a sandstorm, crashes and everyone is back to square
one.
It’s left to an eccentric traveller in their midst to
build the new plane out of the wreckage and the pilot to fly
the Phoenix back to safety. Mission Impossible? Not for the
yankees.
