R is For Ricochet, Sue Grafton :
How does she do it? How does Grafton run through the alphabet
retaining the reader’s interest. Could it be her humour?
Or her dry wit? Or the fact that the plot never flounders - that
it’s always pacy and incredibly human? How does Frafton
create a character like Kinsey Millhone?
Honest but not above
bending the law (only slightly she insists), she loves junk food
and has no clue how to dress. She also almost always gets her
man. Generally it’s the bad guy. This alphabet is special
though as Kinsey finds love and sex. Yes even PI’s (Private
Investigators) do it! And perhaps that’s how Grafton does
release one best-seller after another. She keeps it real!
Brief : After a
review like this do you even need to be told to go out and buy
the book? Macmillan, Rs. 565. |
